Brand Identity: Enchanted Grounds

Tools used: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Photoshop
2018-2022

Goal: build a collection of cohesive, branded graphic elements for Enchanted Grounds to use both online and in-store.

Process:
While operating as General Manager of Enchanted Grounds, I initially updated the boardgame cafe’s old logo out of necessity.

  1. I needed an icon that would fit in a social media profile circle.
  2. I also needed a high-quality file that could be stretched to any size without distorting the quality.
Left: the original Enchanted Grounds logo; Right: the updated logo (use slider to compare images)

Enchanted Grounds has two locations, each with its own set of social media profiles. I wanted something to somehow differentiate between the two stores online, so users would have a way to see which location they were viewing. I created 3 versions of the icon: a generic version, a Highlands Ranch version, and a Littleton version.

At some point, we needed to reorder retail bags and coffee cup sleeves. I was asked to design them, and happily did so:

a large Enchanted Grounds dragon/cup logo, surrounded by a repeating pattern of coffee cups, D20 dice, and the EG logo
This is the retail bag graphic – I will update it with a photo of an actual bag when I get a chance.
A photo of a paper coffee cup, seemingly pushed forward by a barista's hand. The cup sleeve has an Enchanted Grounds logo on it, with a blue background and repeating pattern of cups, dice, and the EG logo.

In 2020-2021, most of the designs I created were almost entirely dedicated to pandemic-related updates, with a huge focus on online content:

As I stepped back from managing (to focus on design and school), Enchanted Grounds shifted its focus to renovating the Highlands Ranch location:

Although I ended my work with Enchanted Grounds as brand manager in 2022, it was so fun creating these graphics and photos for the EG community to enjoy.

Before parting ways with Enchanted Grounds, I hosted an in-depth training session on social media best practices. The training session came with tools for social media planning, suggestions for formatting and content topics, and continued support for the brand’s current social media manager. They’ve taken this info and created a TikTok account with lots of great content that I would not have been able to create remotely. If you love games and coffee, they’re a great account to follow!
