Goal: Create posters and social media graphics for GraceFull Community Cafe’s Volunteer Month. Additionally, I was asked to design a mission statement poster to display in the cafe’s back-of-house.
Process:
The client reached out to me about designing some assets for their upcoming Volunteer Month campaign. They also requested a poster to showcase their mission statement where volunteers could enjoy it while working in the cafe’s kitchen. I asked a lot of questions about color, style, etc and gave them a mood board-style PDF to gauge how they felt about certain styles and color combinations.
Once I had all the info I needed, along with their brand’s font and style guide, we settled on these social media posts and posters for Volunteer Month:

Once we’d settled on the Volunteer Month images, I tackled the Core Values poster. It went through many iterations before paring it down to a simple sans serif list with a subtle texture and ‘GraceFull green’ border:

I also gave them the ‘volunteer chain’ illustration to use however they would like:

It was really fun working with GraceFull in this capacity. I was a barista for the cafe several years ago and I still love visiting with the owners and regulars when I get a chance. After moving across town, those chances are few and far between these days, so this project was extra special.
